Builders
Preliminary BEE grades for Quebec builders, from public information.
Graded under the BEE Certification Standard, Draft v1. Issued by BEE Certification.
Learn first
Bitcoin
What Bitcoin is, how the network is secured, and what integrating Bitcoin means for an organization.
Energy
How energy is managed, measured and disclosed: energy policies, audits, metering, and recognized frameworks such as ISO 50001.
Environment
Environmental management and transparency: emissions disclosure, ISO 14001, outside ratings, and backing every public claim with evidence.
Preliminary BEE grades from public information. Not a certification. Score shown as a percentage. Gold 50+ foundation points.
Sustainable, eco-responsible, future-focused builders appear on this list to guide them into the Bitcoin future.

About us

Mission
Heat reuse and building Bitcoin homes.
Origin
Any thermal heat signature can be converted through Bitcoin mining and put back to work. BEE is built on that principle.
Proven in practice
Three homes built. Eleven heat reuses, including the pool, fireplace, sauna, greenhouse, dishwasher, clothes dryer and hot water tank. A three-year field test: Liberty City.
Why BEE exists
The Bitcoin home and its 11 heat reuses show what is possible. Our aim is to bring Bitcoin to the world. Beyond revenue, Bitcoin delivers significant heat savings. That is why we ran the Liberty City test case, and why we made the BEE certification real.
Next phase
El Salvador: a planned project with four heat reuses.

Liberty City: A Three-Year Field Test in Heat Reuse
The BEE team conducted a three-year real-world test: Liberty City, a city built around heat reuse, capturing and reusing waste heat (les déchets thermiques). This is the BEE team's own pilot. It makes no claim about any builder listed on this site.
What it showed
Duration
Three years of real-world operation.
Scope
A whole city, Liberty City, built around heat reuse.
Core result
Waste heat is a resource, not waste. Heat reuse is the core finding.
Detailed engineering data available on request.
Education
BEE begins with education. Before assessment, leadership and teams cover three subjects.
The BEE education module is being prepared. Completing it is part of the Bitcoin readiness criterion below.
The BEE Standard
BEE measures how future-leaning an organization is: whether it adopts forward-looking technologies and practices such as AI and digital construction, energy and heat reuse, carbon markets and sound ESG practice. Bitcoin is the flagship example of a forward-looking technology. Every organization starts at 0 Bitcoin points, and no Bitcoin use is required for a first grade.
Two pillars
1. Future-leaning technology
Integration of forward-looking technology. Signals: AI and digital construction, energy and heat reuse, carbon-market participation, and Bitcoin readiness (education, feasibility study, pilot plan).
2. Eco-responsibility
Environmental consciousness and care. Signals: energy management (ISO 50001, audits, policy), measured performance and emissions disclosure, ISO 14001 and outside ratings, ESG governance and transparency.
That pairing, forward-looking technology and care for the environment, is what Bitcoin adoption is fundamentally about.
Bitcoin
The flagship forward-looking technology. Everyone starts at 0; points come from education and careful planning toward integration.
Energy
Sound energy management, measured performance, honest disclosure, and forward-looking practices such as energy and heat reuse.
Environment
Environmental management, ESG practice, carbon-market participation, outside ratings and transparent governance.
Assessment criteria (draft)
| Criterion | Weight | What is looked at |
|---|---|---|
| Energy management | 25 | ISO 50001 from an accredited body, or a documented energy audit or energy policy with targets. |
| Measured performance and disclosure | 20 | Public energy and emissions data (scope 1 and 2), year-over-year metered trend, third-party verification. |
| Environmental management and outside ratings | 20 | ISO 14001; CDP, Sustainalytics or MSCI ratings; ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager benchmarking. |
| Governance and transparency | 15 | Published sustainability report, federal S-211 report, a named energy or sustainability lead, public claims backed by sources. |
| Bitcoin readiness (education) | 20 | Completion of the BEE education module, a feasibility study, and a pilot plan with a metering design. |
Grades
| Grade | Meaning |
|---|---|
| D | Starting point: energy data is limited. |
| C | Energy basics in place. |
| B | Strong energy management. |
| A | Leading energy and environmental conduct, ready for the next step. |
A higher level, reserved for a future independently verified Bitcoin integration pilot, will be defined separately.
Guardrails
- Published method: criteria, weights and sources are public; every point links to a dated source.
- Self-declared cap: grades based only on an organization's own claims are capped at B.
- Annual review: grades are recalculated yearly and lapse if evidence lapses.
- Independence: paid services earn points only through their deliverables, never through payment.
The criteria and weights are a working draft and may change before the first assessments.
How assessment works
- Learn. Complete the BEE education on Bitcoin, energy and environment.
- Apply. Submit an application for assessment.
- Submit evidence. Provide dated documents and public sources for each criterion.
- Review. Each criterion is scored against the published method.
- Grade. A grade from D to A, with the specific requirements for the next level.
- Annual renewal. Grades are reviewed yearly against current evidence.
Formal assessments have not yet begun. The grades shown above are preliminary, from public information only.
For companies
BEE is designed for organizations with established energy and environmental management that are ready for a first step toward Bitcoin integration.
ISO 50001 sites
Natural Resources Canada has cited about 160 ISO 50001 facilities in Canada. Organizations with a formal energy management system are the primary audience.
Organizations with ESG programs
Companies already publishing sustainability or emissions data can map that evidence directly to the BEE criteria.
Builders
Builders, including independent builders, demonstrating energy and environmental conduct.
FAQ
What is BEE?
BEE stands for Bitcoin, Energy, Environment. It grades organizations on two pillars, forward-looking technology and eco-responsibility, beginning with education.
Do we need to use Bitcoin to be assessed?
No. A first BEE grade reflects current energy and environmental standing. Bitcoin readiness is one criterion, focused on education and planning.
Has any organization been graded yet?
No formal assessment has been completed. The grades shown on this page are preliminary, from public information only. They are not a certification.
What is "BEE Top Environment"?
It is the name of the BEE badge. Badge rules will be published together with the final assessment method.
How much does assessment cost?
Pricing has not been set.
Is the method public?
Yes. The criteria, weights and guardrails are shown on this page as a working draft.
